Entries Open For The Erg Power Series

The Erg Power Series is an exciting new event that kicks off on 14 September and runs until 11 October 2024. This four-week competition is designed to help rowers of all levels build and showcase their power as they prepare for the indoor racing season. It's perfectly timed to lead into events like the British Rowing Indoor Championships (BRIC), making it an ideal way to jumpstart your season.

Event Structure
Duration: 4 weeks (14 September - 11 October 2024)
Format: Weekly cycles with 4 workouts announced every Saturday. Athletes have until the following Friday to submit their scores.
Flexibility: Participants can attempt each workout multiple times during the week if they wish.

Some workouts may have multiple scoring opportunities, encouraging participants to strategise and optimise their performances.

Veterans (56+ years)
Weight Divisions:

The competition is designed to foster a highly competitive environment for sprint-focused rowers while also providing an opportunity for those who may not traditionally focus on power to build it. This includes categories like lightweights and veterans, where the emphasis on power can be particularly beneficial, especially as athletes age.

The Erg Power Series aims to make sprinting less intimidating and more accessible. The workouts are designed to progressively build power and explosiveness, offering participants a chance to experiment, improve, and gain confidence.

The event organisers are  active on Instagram, where they share tips, tricks, and prep workouts to help participants get ready. The platform will also be used to promote and celebrate the successes and improvements of the athletes.

The competition is hosted on ErgZone, which is free to download and easy to connect with the Concept 2 PM5 monitor.
