D-Day 80th Anniversary Indoor Rowing Challenge

The D-Day landings of 6 June 1944 was the largest seaborne invasion in history. Along with the associated airborne operations, it marked the beginning of the liberation of France and western Europe.

D-Day was a monumental campaign to rid Europe of Nazi horror, and the 80th anniversary of this remarkable operation deserves the recognition and gratitude of our country.

The beaches were given the code names UTAH, OMAHA, GOLD, JUNO, and SWORD. The invasion force included 7,000 ships and landing craft manned by over 195,000 naval personnel from eight allied countries. Almost 133,000 troops from the United States, the British Commonwealth, and their allies, landed on D-Day.

This medal is one of Row The Distance's finest they have ever produced, finished with chrome silver and gold, weighing a heavy 108g. It displays the names of the 5 beaches, along with the flags of the allied forces, its a great memento of the anniversary. The virtual tracking map travels 80km along the landing beaches of Normandy.

20% of every entry will be donated to a military charity of your choice, please see below for details.
