Race the December Cross Team Challenge at BRIC 2024!

2024 is set to be an incredibly exciting year for the British Rowing Indoor Championships. The weekend becomes a festival of indoor rowing as Sunday's racing features six unique events for competitors to get stuck into Super Sprint Sunday.

Entrants have the choice of racing over 1000m, 1 minute, 250m, 100m or in the Elimination Race. The first event, the Surprise Challenge is directly linked with this month’s Cross Team Challenge.

Running since December 2005, the CTC is a monthly competition chosen by indoor rowing teams around the world. Hosted on Inside Indoor, the December competition has been chosen by SUB 7 Indoor Rowing Club, one of the regular teams to compete at BRIC through the years.

The challenge will see competitors racing over 1,2,3,4 and 5-minute intervals with 75 seconds rest between pieces.

The challenge has been chosen by the indoor rowing community and after completing, competitors will be able to register their scores in the monthly challenge on Inside Indoor.

“I think challenges like this are appealing because there are multiple different ways to pace them depending on your strengths and weaknesses as a rower,” said SUB 7 Team Manager Casey Clarke.

Clarke, a frequent racer at BRIC, is looking forward to returning to Birmingham this year.

“There is no substitute for in person competition. [I love] the arena, the atmosphere, the chance to get together with your team mates and other race competitors, the camaraderie and friendships created, and it’s all part of keeping our wonderful sport alive and kicking.”
